Stoneware Tall Mug Yellow Gingham Gold Handle

Slip cast stoneware mug. This piece has been hand-painted with a lemon yellow slip in a gingham pattern before being dipped into clear glaze. The handle is finished with 22 carat gold lustre to give an extra special touch. 

How is it made?

Each mug in this collection has been slip cast from a mould. This process involves pouring liquid clay into a mould to cast the mug shape. The mugs are then hand-painted with lemon yellow slip before being dipped into clear glaze. The inside of the mug is also glazed clear. After the piece is glazed the handle is hand painted with 22 carat gold lustre before being fired for a third time.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

This item is made to order so the piece will take 3-4 weeks to be made from scratch. However I keep a small selection of stock ready to post within 3 days of your order, so if you need your item sooner message me and I will let you know if I have it in stock.

Sustainability

Sustainability is important to me and while very few products and processes of making can be viewed as fully sustainable, few materials around are as durable and eco-friendly as ceramics. If well cared for my pieces can last you a lifetime. Heat in our kilns is well managed and distributed and due to working in a shared studio space our kilns are always fully loaded; making the most of each firing. I do not use toxic materials and all of my glazes are lead free. I also produce very little waste and reclaim all clay off cuts. My packaging is either plastic free or reused materials.

I hope you love your selected purchase however if you are unhappy with your item for any reason I happily except returns. Just make sure you return items carefully in the original packaging to avoid breakages.  

Important information 

This mug is technically dishwasher safe however I would suggest washing by hand to prevent any damage. 

Due to gold details this piece is not microwave safe. 

Food safe and lead free glaze.
